Gbajabiamila Visits Baby of the Year and Motherless Home

The Leader of House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the President Muhammadu Buhari in his quest to take Nigeria out of recession.

Gbajabiamila who made the appeal when he paid a courtesy visit to the Gbaja Maternal and Childcare unit of Randle General Hospital, Surulere, to felicitate with the family of the first baby of the year in Surulere 1 federal constituency. He said that the House of Representatives would continue to support President Buhari with people oriented laws that will assist him in ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians.

Gbajabiamila who was accompanied by his wife Salamatu Gbajabiamila and his children were received by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Olakunle Oni. The baby of the year was born in the early hours of today to the family of Uchechukwu Chukwuka.

The House Leader presented a cheque to the Chukwuka family and donated several gift items to the baby and other babies delivered in the hospital in the new year.

Speaking to newsmen, Gbajabiamila who represents Surulere constituency 1 said the action was borne out of the need to celebrate new baby of the year in the constituency as being done in the state.

The father of the baby of the year, Mr. Uchechukwu Chukwuka thanked the House Leader for the kind gesture. “The memory of today will last forever in our family and we thank our lawmaker for his kindness to our family”, Chukwuka said.

The House Leader also visited the Heart of Gold Hospice, Surulere to celebrate the new year with less privileged children where he also presented items and made cash donation to the home.

The founder of the Heart of Gold Hospice, Laja Adedoyin pointed out that Hon. Gbajabiamila’s support towards catering for the homeless children dated back to 2014 saying that he had adopted and assisted some children for operations abroad.
